Welcome to Christ the King

Dear Parents and Friends:

It is with humility and appreciation that I join the community of Christ the King School as your principal. This will be my first time as the leader of an elementary school. I am anxious to serve the professional staff and students of Christ the King. As I learn about the deep traditions at our school, I plan to continue the academic excellence, Catholic identity and spirit of hospitality that was the hallmark of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart who staffed our school for over 53 years.

This promises to be an exciting but challenging year as our students learn while a beautiful new building rises on our campus. The construction and focus on learning at CKS inspired our slogan for this year, “Building Catholic Scholars”.

Having known Monsignor McNamee for 20 years, I am certain that our school and our parish will continue to be mutually supportive, centering our efforts on Catholic teachings and traditions of inclusiveness and prayer. Our Catholic faith will continue to be integrated into learning throughout the day, so that students not only learn their faith but also put their faith into action.

In my 27 years as a school principal, I have always been visible and accessible. Therefore, don’t hesitate to stop by my office or send an e-mail if you have a concern. While my tenure at Christ the King may not be longer than the upcoming year, I plan to actively lead the school while continuing the efforts of Mrs. Ward to maintain and even enhance the academic program of the school.

Christ The King is blessed with a very talented staff which is dedicated to the success of every student. I hope to continue to inspire a love of learning in each student as we stress the importance of serving others. Every parent should feel welcome to participate and enhance our school. I hope you will come to Mass with your student, support our service programs, and trust our staff to provide a world class education to your child. Involved parents clearly increase student achievement.

God bless you and your family as we continue to be a community that unites school, family and our Catholic faith.
