Our Pastor: Monsignor Frank McNamee

In January 2009, Monsignor Frank McNamee was named pastor of the Cathedral of Christ the King and immediately became a daily fixture on the Christ the King School campus.  Nearly every morning, Monsignor McNamee can be seen greeting the children by name in morning carpool, coffee mug in hand.  In addition, he is often seen at basketball games, attending student retreats, visiting the lunchroom or popping into classrooms.  From his daily visits to the school, Monsignor McNamee’s love of Catholic education is obvious.

His liturgical questions during school masses are a favorite for everyone.  Hundreds of hands shoot up hoping to be called upon to receive kudos for knowing the correct answer.  Monsignor McNamee’s warm Irish charm and spiritual leadership are blessings for the entire Christ the King School community.

Monsignor McNamee is a native of Loughrea, Ireland and was ordained to the priesthood in 1995.  He has served in the Archdiocese of Atlanta at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City and St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kennesaw.

Prior to coming to Christ the King, he was the founding pastor of St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell.  Monsignor McNamee also serves on the Priest Personnel Review Board for the Archdiocese of Atlanta and is a member of Vicars for Clergy and the Council of Priests.
