Academic Resources Christ the King School offers the following academic support for our students. Resource Teachers A part-time faculty member works with Kindergarten through third grade students with learning-to-read issues. This teacher is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method of reading tutoring. One full-time faculty member works with students needing assistance in the classroom in grades Kindergarten – eighth in all areas of the curriculum. Students are referred to this teacher on an as need basis. Independent Tutors Space is provided for non-faculty tutors who contract privately with families whose children need the Orton-Gillingham or Lindamood-Bell methods of language-based learning. The School Counselor has a list of tutoring services in the Atlanta community for those families seeking such information.
CKS Homework Lab Is homework time a battle? Is organization a bit of an issue for your child? Would you like to avoid the carpool crush? If so, CKS Homework Lab is for you! Our goal is to help students get organized and get most of their homework done before they go home. Fully staffed by our own CKS teachers for students in grades 2 - 8.
