Committed to educating the “whole child,” CKS offers a variety of opportunities for students to explore and develop their creative talents.
Enrichment classes include:
Visual Arts: Visual Arts: painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, collage, weaving, oil pastel, foil embossing, stop-motion animation, and ceramics.
Music: Kodaly-based music program
Physical Education: Physical Education is an integral part of the total education of the whole child at Christ the King Catholic School. Students gain the necessary knowledge to understand the importance of physical fitness and health through exposure to a variety of activities. Lessons are structured for quality learning experiences that create an environment fostering individual success, positive self-image, social behavior, leadership ability and moral development.
Spanish: grade level Spanish (K-8)
Academic Extension Program: The CKS Academic Extension program, which began during the 2019-2020 school year, provides students with academic challenges that extend beyond the standard curriculum. While students are selected using a broad set of criteria including teacher observations/input, academic performance, and standardized test scores, those who consistently display a "can-do attitude" and demonstrate an enthusiasm and passion for learning are often placed in the program as well. As the program continues to grow, we look forward to extending learning to students beyond the classroom. Project based learning and STEAM will be at the core of the curriculum. Our goal is to help facilitate independent learning for our CKS students.
