The Alumni Scholarship is awarded to a seventh-grade student who lives their Catholic faith by exhibiting the following traits: citizenship, responsibility, service to others, self-starter, a commitment to family and are a good ambassador for CKS. Established in 2017 by the Schweers family in memory of their son, Camp Schweers, a CKS ’05 alumni. THE CULLUM OWINGS SCHOLARSHIP
The Cullum Owings Scholarships are awarded to a 5th grade boy and girl. The recipients must be like Cullum: well-rounded (displaying a balance of academic, athletic, and social interests), compassionate (showing kindness to all), a leader (displaying natural leadership inside and outside of the classroom), and someone who makes the school community all the better by his or her presence. Candidates for this scholarship are nominated by their peers and then invited to apply for the scholarship. To donate to this scholarship click here. THE KATHERINE J DAVIS SCHOLARSHIP
Katherine was an active parishioner at Christ the King for over 50 years and a former parent and grandparent at CKS. Katherine delighted in seeing CKS students on campus while volunteering. She had a profound love for Christ the King School and this scholarship was established in her memory. The Knights of Columbus Scholarships are awarded in the fall to a boy and girl in both the seventh and eighth grades. The purpose of the scholarship is to support Catholic Education and identify students who exemplify their “Faith in Action” consistent with the mission of the Knights of Columbus. All candidates must apply by completing a formal application with the Cathedral of the Christ the King Chapter of the Knights of Columbus. A scholarship selection committee comprised of members of the Knights of Columbus and Christ the King School teachers review the applications and if need, personal interviews will be conducted. THE Mama Noel and bud murray SCHOLARSHIP
The Noel and Bud Murray Scholarship is awarded to an 8th grade student who always puts forth his/her best effort, is kind and helpful to others, volunteers his/her talents, respects authority, is a peace maker, and grows in God’s grace each day. The Sister Jean Liston Scholarship was established to honor our former principal and Grey Nun of the Sacred Heart. This scholarship is awarded to two fourth-grade students who embody the teachings of St. Marguerite d’Youville, the founder of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart. This student must possess the values of peace, justice, and compassion in their daily life and demonstrate Sr. Jean’s passion and proficiency in mathematics. To donate to this scholarship click here. THE Owen Stokes SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship was established by David and Laura Stokes in the fall of 2007 after Owen’s passing. Owen was to have entered kindergarten in August of that year. This scholarship is awarded to two kindergarten students who have a passion for reading, sports, arts, and crafts. The PVA awards a scholarship to two seventh grade students. These students exemplify academic scholarship, citizenship, school spirit, Christian ideals, and moral values. Ms. Pauline and Paul Weinzierl Scholarship
Ms. Pauline and Paul Weinzierl Scholarship is given to a 3rd grade student in memory of Ms. Pauline and Paul Weinzierl who joined CTK in 1957. Their four children; Joe, Greg, Loretta, and Tim all attended CKS. Ms. Pauline was a 2nd grade teachers assistant, and they were very involved in the school carnival back in the 60’s and 70’s. The Weinzierl’s had complete and unconditional love for Christ. Their constant prayer life, at home and church, showed a true commitment to His will. Their dedication to each other, through God, allowed them to be married for over 72 years. Their lives were a true example of what it meant to dedicate one’s life to God. THE TIMOTHY ANGULO SCHOLARSHIP
The Angulo family established this scholarship in memory of their son, Tim, a CKS 1998 alumni. This scholarship is awarded to a sixth-grade student who has the following characteristics: community involvement, respectful, good sportsmanship, peacemaker, compassionate, trustworthy, loyal, helpful, courteous, humble, and cheerful.
