Is there a priority of acceptance? Catholic families will receive of priority of acceptance. The following order of admissions applies to applicants who qualify for acceptance based on the results of the screening and placement test and the admissions process. The order also applies to any pre-registered or wait-listed applicant. Circumstances not covered by the below prioritization shall be at the discretion of the Principal or designee.
Local transfer students from any public, private, or Archdiocesan School into eighth grade is generally not considered. A student whose family recently relocated to the Atlanta area and was previously enrolled in a Catholic school may apply for admission into eighth grade. Admission to Christ the King School is contingent upon the family’s having met all financial obligations at a previous school. Students accepted into grades 5-7 are expected to attend CKS through 8th grade graduation. CKS does not provide letters of recommendation for students who are accepted into these grade levels and choose to apply out prior to high school. Are all forms due by the January 31 deadline? January 31, 2025 is the application deadline. The application consists of your application, application fee, and birth certificate. February 14, 2025 is the deadline for all other documentation, including transcripts and teacher recommendations. Files that are incomplete will not be considered for admission. Accommodation of Students with Special Needs The school strives to accommodate students with diverse needs, including, but not limited to, physical, emotional, social, or learning challenges. However, families must fully disclose the nature and known extent of such challenges during the admission process. The school has limited resources to meet certain challenges and may recommend educational alternatives that may better serve the needs of some students. At Christ the King, the Student Success Team (SST) oversees the process of identifying and managing the special educational needs of students. The SST is headed by an Assistant Principal and consists of a resource teacher, classroom teacher, school counselor, and other teachers and administrators, as necessary. A student in need of academic support is referred to the school’s SST that will, in turn, develop learning strategies and instructional support for the student. Support may include, but not be limited to, resource teacher assistance, push-in assistance, and pull-out assistance. Parents may also be required to secure the services of an outside tutor or other support professional. The feasibility of accepting or retaining an enrolled student with special needs depends on several factors, including, but not limited to, the nature and extent of the needs and accommodations and the staff’s ability to make reasonable accommodations to instruction and the facility. |
