Parent Volunteer Association
Parent Volunteer Association (PVA)The purpose of this organization is to bring about close coordination and cooperation between the parents and teachers, as well as to foster the pursuit of excellence in academic and cultural endeavors among the students. All parents are members and, as such, are urged to attend as many scheduled meetings as possible.
The CKS PVA is governed by a board of parent volunteers. PVA-Sponsored events are funded and coordinated by the PVA to benefit the students, faculty, parents, and school. These events are educational, spiritual, social, and developmental.
Middle School Council
The Middle School Council is a committee under the PVA of Christ the King School. All middle school parents are members of the Middle School Council. The purpose of the Middle School Council is to act as the liaison between the faculty, parents and students. The goal is to provide social and academic events to enhance the Middle School experience.
The Middle School Council sponsors extra field trips as well as dances, cookouts, speakers and the Snack Shack. Middle School Council activities are funded by proceeds from the school supplies sale and the Snack Shack.
School Advisory Council
The School Advisory Council is established to assist the Pastor and Principal, providing advice and counsel regarding the operation of the school. The Principal of the parochial school has the delegated authority and responsibility from the Pastor and the Archdiocesan Office of Catholic Schools to operate the school according to Archdiocesan and parish policies in such a way that will meet the purposes of the school as fully as possible within the limits of the budget.
The School Advisory Council provides advice and counsel to the school administration regarding the operation of the school, provides leadership and coordination of all committee functions and responsibilities, and acts as a liaison between the school administration and the committees. Parents are welcome to contact members of the School Advisory Council regarding areas covered by the board committees or areas of the school in general.
